I believe that beautiful doesn’t have to make us anxious. That sorrow doesn’t have to best us — that we can thrive in midst of the storm. That we can be free and happy every single day, without fear. That we can approach life from our Center in which we are in control of our emotions. So we can choose our experience, and live happily ever after.
The True Romance of Life
To me that is God. That is Love of God. To know our truest Self which is free. Free and calm, as if under the effects of a powerful tranquilizer. Our breathing is the portal to that freedom. We can not control the mind by thought alone — we control the mind by affecting our nervous system through calm breathing. It is a homecoming. A deep tranquility, it is in our reach and in our fingertips at all times. We just must remember to breathe and to relax. To let go of worrying and anxiety. We need to learn how to relax again, to take off our socks and let our feet touch the ground and let our minds stop worrying. Stop with the shame and the guilt, the regret and the fear. Just identify the emotion, label it with our language, and let go of it. Sapolsky said that we have to let go of replaying all our mistakes and shame and regret in our heads constantly, it will only cause us chronic stress, which is the number one fatality in 2026.
Chronic Stress is the Enemy of Happiness
To get rid of chronic stress, I have some tips — do something that relaxes you. For example writing or journaling or doing an art project. Forget about trying to earn money — forget about the views of those who criticize you, forget about all outcomes all together. Just let the mind play free, and do something with your hands, for example. Your mileage may wary, but for me doing an art project such as writing something works perfect.
The Master of Emotions
I learned this from Gay Hendricks who has published many books with his wife and his own writing on breathing and creativity and marriage and relationships, and I consider him a real master of his knowledge.
He also thinks there is a difference between ordinary creativity and true creativity — he says that true creativity benefits others and you, whilst ordinary creativity only benefits the person who is receiving the work. That really changed how I think about my own creative effort and why I now charge for my work, too.
The Higher Form of Creativity
So True Creativity is the higher form of it and it is the form of creative energy that benefits the creator of the work as well. Perhaps in the form of financial abundance, perhaps as well in the nature of the work itself — maybe it can be written for the creator him or herself too.
